Founder/Director
Kaci Crowell
Kaci Crowell is the proud founder and director of Studio K Dance Company, bringing with her over 20 years of teaching experience and a lifelong passion for dance. She began dancing at the age of 2 and danced competitively for 15 years in the studio of her mother, Chris Hobbs, who owned and operated a successful dance school for over 40 years. Kaci has trained in all styles of dance, and participated in prestigious intensives and workshops across the country to further her dance education. She was the director of the competition team at Tehachapi Academy of Performing Arts from 2009-2013 before relocating to Bakersfield. Ms Kaci has been teaching dance in Bakersfield since 2013 at the recreational and competitive level. She takes great pride in forming meaningful relationships with her students and their families, and is dedicated to fostering a positive, encouraging, and inclusive studio culture, just like the one she was raised in. While it had always been her dream to open a studio in Bakersfield, Kaci chose to focus first on her growing family. She is now a proud wife and mother to six beautiful children, and the timing is finally right to bring her dream to life. Kaci continues to expand her own knowledge of dance and teaching by participating in ongoing training, workshops, and classes. She believes that great teachers never stop learning, and she is passionate about staying current with evolving dance techniques and teaching methods. She is beyond excited to bring a fresh, inspiring studio culture to Bakersfield and is excited to share this journey with all of you!

Instructor
Chris Hobbs
Chris Hobbs, lovingly known as Ms. Chris to her students, brings a legacy of passion, excellence, and dedication to the dance world. Originally from Indiana, Ms. Chris began her dance training in the 1970s at the Indiana Dance Company, where she laid the foundation for a lifelong career in the performing arts. In 1984, she moved to California and opened Tehachapi Academy of Performing Arts. For 40 remarkable years, she owned and operated the studio, shaping the lives of countless dancers through her expert instruction and nurturing guidance. Ms. Chris is a proud member of Dance Masters of America, where she completed her teacher’s training and further honed her skills in providing high-quality, disciplined dance education. Her influence has reached far beyond the walls of her studio. Many of her former students have gone on to become professional dancers and open successful studios of their own, a testament to the powerful legacy she’s built. Over the years, she has earned numerous accolades, including the prestigious Al Gilbert Tap Award, a reflection of her artistry and commitment to the craft. Ms. Chris is a firm believer that proper training and safety are the cornerstones of a dancer’s success. Now, after a well earned retirement, she is thrilled to return to the studio to support her daughter, Kaci, in fulfilling her dream of opening Studio K Dance Company. With decades of experience and a heart full of passion, Ms. Chris continues to inspire the next generation of dancers with the same love and dedication that have defined her career.

Instructor
Lilee Broome
Lilee has been dancing for 14 years, with 8 of those years immersed in the competitive dance world. Throughout her journey, she has consistently challenged herself and refined her skills across a wide variety of dance styles each bringing its own unique flair and excitement. For the past 4 years, Lilee has had the privilege of teaching dance, sharing her love of movement while inspiring students to find their own rhythm and voice. Dance has always been more than just steps and routines for Lilee, it's a profound source of joy, expression, and connection. Among the many styles she has explored, she feels especially drawn to the emotive power of contemporary and the dynamic energy of jazz. These genres allow her to deeply connect with the music and convey powerful emotions through movement. While attending Stockdale High School, Lilee became a member of the cheer team. Her dedication and spirit earned her prestigious All American award from the United Spirit Association during cheer camp, which opened the door to travel and connect with cheerleaders from around the world. In the coming year, Lilee plans to continue teaching dance while pursuing her passion for cosmetology. Beyond the studio, she also volunteers at The Bridge Bible Church, where she is actively involved in the special needs buddy program showcasing her heart for service and community. Lilee is passionate about making a positive impact through everything she does. Whether in the studio, the salon, or her volunteer work, she brings creativity, compassion, and a drive to uplift those around her. Dance remains her greatest source of inspiration and she is excited to share her passion of dance with the next generation.

Administrator
Rose Evans
Rose Evans brings a strong background in hospitality and a passion for creating a welcoming environment for dancers and their families. With 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Rose understands the importance of organization, customer service, and community—skills she seamlessly applies to the administrative side of the studio. Growing up, Rose was actively involved in recreational sports and spent much of her time babysitting, developing a natural ability to connect with and support children. Now, as a wife and mother of three, she continues to foster a family-centered atmosphere at Studio K, ensuring that every dancer feels at home. Rose will primarily be handling the studio’s administration, so you’ll often find her at the front desk, ready to assist with any questions and keep things running smoothly. When she’s not at the studio, she’s busy with her family—including their two loyal German shepherds. Rose is excited to help build a dance community where every student feels encouraged, supported, and inspired.

Instructor
Lindy Carter
Lindy Carter started dancing at the age of 4 and has been dancing for 15 years. She has trained in both recreational and competitive dance. Lindy was also involved in cheer and dance team throughout high school. Her love for performing and being part of a team has shaped her journey in dance. She is currently studying a Dance major with an emphasis in Pedagogy at Brigham Young University Idaho, where she has learned a lot about proper technique, movement, and the importance of building strong foundations from a young age. Lindy believes that teaching kids solid technique early on helps them grow into confident, skilled dancers. Dance has played a huge role in her life, helping her grow not just physically, but also mentally and emotionally. Now, she’s excited to share that passion with the dancers at Studio K while she continues her studies online. Being part of the Studio K staff is a great opportunity for her to inspire and connect with the next generation of dancers in a positive and supportive environment.
